Privacy Policy

What we collect
When you create a Firefly'd account, we collect your Apple ID email address, a username you choose, and your age confirmation. When you use the app, we collect check-ins, ratings, reviews, amendments, photos, and videos you choose to post. We collect approximate location data when you use the map or Near Me feed filter, with your permission. We collect messages you send through the app, which are end-to-end encrypted using Signal Protocol and are not readable by Firefly'd.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your precise GPS coordinates beyond what is necessary to show you nearby dispensaries. We do not collect your browsing history, contacts, or any data from other apps. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not sell your data to third parties under any circumstances.
How we use your data
Your data is used to operate the platform — to show your check-ins in the community feed, to power dispensary search and discovery, and to provide anonymous aggregated analytics to verified dispensary and brand partners. Aggregated analytics never identify individual users. We use your email address to send account-related communications and, with your permission, product updates.
Messaging and encryption
Direct messages on Firefly'd use Signal Protocol end-to-end encryption. Message content is not stored on our servers in readable form. We cannot read your messages and cannot produce them in response to legal requests. Key material is stored locally on your device.
Age requirement
Firefly'd is a 21+ platform. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 21. If you are under 21, do not use this platform. If we learn that a user is under 21, we will terminate their account and delete their data.
Your rights under CCPA
California residents have the right to know what personal data we collect, to request deletion of their data, to opt out of the sale of their data (we do not sell data), and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@fireflyd.com.
Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is deleted within 30 days. Aggregated anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely. Check-ins and reviews you have posted will be removed from public view upon account deletion.
